Coach Kim has been training juniors since the late 1970’s. One of the first players he coached was a 5-6 year old girl named Stephanie Rehe, who later went on to become the WTA’s Rookie of the year and reached her highest ranking of #10 in the world.

Coach Kim spends all of his time on court with the players each day. Coach Kim and his wife Jennifer are also involved in all aspects of each players home life, ie.- we have meals together, we keep up with the players daily academic progress, we accompany players to fitness and spend social time together as the players are considered a part of our family.

8-10 players. Coach Kim believes that the best way to develop your child into a great tennis player is to limit the amount of players in the academy. He can then concentrate his full efforts and expertise on those 8-10. Unlike other academies, Coach Kim is personally involved with each player on a daily bases. There is no priority involvement given to just one or two of the top players. They are all our TOP Players.

We do not work on fitness during our practices on court each day. Fitness training takes place off court and is in addition to players 4-5 hours of tennis training. We incorporate fitness training 4-5 days per week at one of America’s Premier Fitness Centers, Lifetime Fitness. You can find out more about Lifetime on their website at www.lifetimefitness.com.

Mental Conditioning is part of everyday practice. We stress the importance of working hard in training. Our players repeat the same shots, we discuss tactics and weapons continually, and go through every aspect of the game over and over. Repetition forms confidence in each players game. This creates Mental Conditioning. Confidence comes from hundreds of hours of practice

The players live in Coach Kim’s family home with his wife and children. The Academy players are considered a part of our family and this environment helps with all aspects of each players training. They are never left alone after training to take care of themselves. We know that the decision for any child to leave home to pursue their dreams of developing into a top athlete can be difficult. We try to make their experience with us as close to the comfort they feel in their own home.

We have a full time cook/housekeeper on site to care for the players. She cooks healthy and nutritious meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We include a lot of fruits and vegetables in their diets. We believe is it extremely important for the players to eat well to maintain top physical strength and performance. We also eat our meals together to ensure that the players are eating well and getting their share.

Each player has one to two roommates. The rooms have bunk beds, a desk for each player for studying and lots of storage for clothes and personal belongings.

Each player must be enrolled in the online school, the University of Nebraska’s online courses. The school is accredited which means that the student/players will get credit for the class they take.
